Santa & the Mrs.

Our story

In 1999, Anna and Don Preston bought a home in Englewood, CO but temporarily needed to live in one of the local motels along South Broadway over the holidays. It didn’t take long to realize most of the other motel residents were far less fortunate, often times living just one misfortune away from being homeless. The kids were the hardest part for Don and Anna and they were determined to somehow make a difference.

Christmas was never easy for Don as a child and the chance to be Santa for those families emerged a few years later. Today, the couple has returned to the motels and temporary homes with gifts and food for the past sixteen years.

Every year, they are contracted to be the official Santa and the Mrs. for private events, and all the fees they receive are used towards their Christmas Eve gift-giving project.

Their efforts were recognized by the local ABC affiliate, KMGH and they were featured on the evening news as “Channel 7’s Everyday Heroes.”  Yet there is an army of elves behind them, both with donations of time and treasure. From the high rises in Denver to the neighbor across the street, their special persona and commitment to the families have touched everyone involved.

Instead of the traditional gathering together to celebrate the holidays, 2020 will be a virtual, individual setting.   Kids and their families will be meeting Santa and the Mrs. live via virtual connections to the North Pole. The very special elves of Santa and the Mrs. are partnering with Your Castle Real Estate and have created a special place in their offices for kids to interact with Santa and the Mrs. safely and privately.
